iLove: My Infantino Play Mat

Whenever I need a break to go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, do my hair, eat, drink, or any other little task that I took for granted before my little love bugs got here, I reach for their Infantino play mat. 

That play mat has given me countless minutes where I can catch me breath by keeping my boys thoroughly entertained. I am beginning to realize that most of my go to products are of the Infantino brand, but they are wonderful and my kiddos love them.

The boys have two play mats, both Infantino, one that their father and I bought them and one that they received as a gift. They love the one that was a gift. Go figure.

But if they like then I love it! Play mats are definitely a great way to go to keep your baby entertained and contained in a safe place for them to explore and have tummy time, (before they learn how to scoot/crawl and break away from the mat). 

The play mat they love. Can I blame them though? This thing is big enough for a bicycle built for 2!

Joy In The Journey

Our society has been tricked into thinking that we have to spend our entire life achieving huge goals.
 Achievements that will show others that our lives are filled with meaning. That we matter. That we aren't living in vain.

So we follow these rules that were set for us. We run around from one goal to another, never appreciating the steps that were taken to reach our objective, or to appreciate what we have accomplished. 

We never feel fulfilled unless we are taking steps to accomplish a big goal or planning a new target to reach. 

But that is where the problem lies, because we were not created to live for the next big thing. We were created to find joy in the small things of life.

"A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God"

Ecclesiastes 2:24

We were created to find joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction in the moments that many take for granted. To find joy in the journey. In every step and every day that lead up to the great big moments that we are taught to work towards.

Life is a journey not a destination, and when we begin to treat it as such, our appreciation for the small moments grow. 

Scandal : My Guilty Pleasure

I had heard a lot of hype about Shonda Rhimes new show "Scandal", but I tend to shy away from what's popular with the mainstream, so I refused to watch the first two seasons. 
My curiosity finally got the best of me when I realized Shonda Rhimes also created 'Grey's Anatomy', one of my favorite shows. 


So, I did what any red blooded American would do, and logged into my Netflix account so I could watch an entire season uninterrupted by commercials. 

Needless to say I have shamelessly hopped onto the 'Scandal' bandwagon. Olivia Pope is my hero. I love the way she maintains her composure in even the most difficult situations and her ability to effectively get things done no matter what. 

Shonda Rhimes is an absolute genius and I am a 'Scandal' fanatic now. Season 2 here I come.
